The first store to blend coffee tradition with a cutting-edge vision, setting the stage for a new era.
The challenge for Siglo de las Luces was significant: to develop the brand’s first store, a space that needed to be iconic and capable of establishing the design language for future openings, even if its dimensions were modest. With only 26 square meters (approx. 280 sq ft) indoors, plus a 20 square meter (approx. 215 sq ft) outdoor corridor designed for coworking-style service, PlasmaNodo’s mission was to maximize every corner and set a precedent.

Our goal was clear: to translate the soul of coffee farms, especially the brand’s own farm in Fredonia, into a modern and sophisticated design language. We aimed to recover authentic elements of coffee culture to position Siglo de las Luces in a unique design segment within Medellín—a place where tradition and innovation coexist harmoniously. We wanted this first store to be a visual manifesto for the brand.

To achieve this, we opted for an aesthetic that blends warmth and modernity. We used light materials to brighten the space and allow the products to truly stand out. The striking red facade, distinct to the brand, grabs attention and marks the coffee shop’s presence in the mall. Inside, we designed comfortable and functional furniture for customers and incorporated green tiles, subtly blending with logo elements, adding character and freshness. Neutral lighting was key to creating a modern yet cozy atmosphere, enhancing the space’s details.

The result is a 100% functional sales point, filled with details that ensure exceptional customer service and smooth operations. Siglo de las Luces has become a focal point in its area, a design benchmark that, despite its compact size, projects a powerful and memorable image. This project is not only a success in itself but also lays a strong foundation for the brand’s future growth, defining a distinctive visual language that will resonate with every new opening.
