Renewing an ice cream shop woven into Medellín’s collective memory meant understanding what its customers wanted to keep. Visits to the stores and conversations with customers, staff and owners informed a new spatial experience grounded in that connection.
Contrasting colours, modular surfaces and lightweight furniture recall the familiarity of traditional ice cream parlours through a contemporary language. The service counter becomes the focal point, organising circulation and seating. The concept was developed as a model for different locations, maintaining a recognisable identity while allowing each store to respond to its setting.
